Psychosis Therapy project
The PTP is a specialist clinic for people who experience Psychosis.
PTP’s first consulting room – where it all started!
The term ‘Psychosis’ is generally used to describe experiences such as:
Hearing Voices
Unusual Beliefs
Paranoia
Major Depressive or Manic Episodes
These experiences can be frightening or overwhelming. They are much more common than most people think.
PTP developed a service to meet this urgent need.
PTP initially launched in 2013 as a grassroots therapy service, in partnership with Islington Mind and in consultation with members of a local Hearing Voices Group.
A need for more individual support was identified among individuals experiencing psychosis and C-PTSD.

Feedback from service users:
"Life-changing in the best possible way"
"A sanctuary in an often times difficult and scary world"
"I truly believe PTP is just as important as the hospital down the road and that by its existence it's helped to save many lives, as well as nurture them, and move people like myself from crisis to 'life is getting better'"
“Finding a sympathetic ear is rare”
“The therapy keeps the voices from disturbing me”
“I feel the therapy is keeping me out of trouble and off the streets”
“I feel less depressed and isolated”
PTP’s 10th Anniversary Celebration
From 2013 to 2024, the PTP operated as a specialist clinic for psychosis, offering long-term therapy to hundreds of service users.
A unique model emerged, bringing together a rich community of professionals, volunteers and service users.
